The Saskatchewan Teacher Federation announced on February 27, that teachers are giving a notice of a one-day withdrawal of noon-hour supervision set to take place on Friday, March 1.

“Withdrawal of noon-hour supervision means STF members will not be available to supervise students who are eating lunch at school or taking part in noon-hour activities. Although teachers, including principals and vice-principals, often provide lunch break supervision, it is done on a voluntary basis. Student supervision is the responsibility of the school division and supervisors are not required to be teachers,” stated the STF in a release.

Withdrawal of noon-hour supervision will take place at the following locations:

  • Association des enseignantes et enseignants fransaskois – All schools in Conseil des écoles fransaskoises

  • Good Spirit Teachers’ Association – All schools in Good Spirit School Division

  • Holy Family Teachers’ Association – All schools in Holy Family Catholic School Division
