An incomprehensible crash Monday morning that left three people dead near Langham is hitting home here in Humboldt.

46 year-old Scott Eckl was one of seven people inside a pick-up truck that was struck by a semi unit hauling vehicles on Highway #16. Eckl has been living in Humboldt for the last seven months with his wife, Nadine Woods.

Eckl, a stucco installer was in the Langham area working for his friend in the industry. His 32 year-old work partner was the driver of the vehicle. They are both in the Saskatoon Royal University Hospital suffering from very serious injuries.

Woods is currently on disability and is unable to work.

The Humboldt Soup Kitchen has picked up on the tragic news and is stepping forward to help Woods in this awful time of need. They are taking donations at the Gathering Place through Linda Jurgens. Jurgens has also created a 'gofundme' account. You can find that here. The money is going to be used for household expenses such as rent at their home as well as travel between Humboldt and Saskatoon.

If you want to arrange a drop off of a donation or are interested in possibly helping in any other way call Jurgens at 231-0454.
