Humboldt Girls Softball is gearing up for a new season with an exciting workshop opportunity for U11 and U13 players from the area. JQFP Softball from Saskatoon will be out for a one-day clinic on May 5 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm in the Humboldt Curling Rink. Instructors from the program will work on batting, fielding and catching skills with the players.
Chris Stadnyk with Humboldt Girls Softball says it’s an exciting chance to jump start a new season.
“Jon Equina, who is running the group, is a three-time U23 National Softball Champion Coach, two-time Canadian University Championship Coach, and he’s been coaching for 23 years,” says Stadnyk. “He’s played all over the world.”
Ryan Volk is on board assisting with coaching and instruction. He’s a European batting champion, says Stadnyk, who has helped coach Denmark’s Olympic squad. The wealth of coaching and technical experience will no doubt be welcome to support the Humboldt Softball organization’s excellent coaches.
Stadynk says there will be more clinic opportunities coming up, not only with JQFP but possibly with the likes of 222 Fastpitch and others. For more information, connect with Chris and the group at the Humboldt Girls Softball Facebook page.
