Humboldt Minor Hockey is searching for a U18 AA coach, so far with little success.

Brian Kusch, Humboldt Minor Hockey 18U Rep, stated there have been no applications received as of yet.

“We’re at the point where we’re going to have to make the tough decision whether we go forward with the team or not. That's always a scary situation, cause you want kids to play, especially with a AA program in Humboldt, so we are looking for someone to step up.”

Qualifications are required to apply. The listing, along with the registration form can be found on the Humboldt Minor Hockey website.

“Lot of misconceptions are that you have to have a kid on the team, but that is not the case. You can just be a volunteer coach.”

Kusch stated applying for the position could potentially help those wanting to coach higher-level hockey.

“It would really look good on a resume if that person was hoping to coach later on at a higher level.”

Kusch hopes they find a coach for the team soon, as kids are excited to get on the ice and are ready to compete and represent Humboldt.

“This team has always been competitive, you’re probably going to see some banners up at the rink, and even last year they did really well. It’s always been a really good team, people want to play from Humboldt, kids want to come to Humboldt to play, it’s just a matter of finding a coach.”
