John (Jack) Lepp
July 2, 1960 – August 22, 2023

John (Jack) Lepp of Spalding, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, with his wife, Paula, by his side. He passed away 11 days after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. Jack was so strong and brave in the face of death. The staff at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, described him as an incredible man. This was his nature. Jack never did anything important half ways! He was strong-willed and determined right from the start!

Jack was born in Steinbach, Manitoba, to Henry and Mary (nee Broesky) Lepp on July 2, 1960. He was a hard worker and believed if a job was done, it better be done right. He learned this as a small boy and had a great work ethic. He could fix anything that was worth fixing. As a child he started working - delivering papers, mowing the graveyard, catching chickens, and washing the mayor’s plane. He was always willing to help others get their work done too. He helped his parents at his dad’s upholstery and reconditioning shop and his mom at her two restaurants. Jack loved good food and believed in second supper!

Jack learned the bodyshop business from his uncles, and developed a great love for perfect, flawless bodywork and paint, and he could do both! He bought cars, sold, fixed, and raced them, and cheated death on several occasions. He was a skilled driver and loved to drive fast. He owned nearly 60 cars by the age of 21, and nearly 80 in his lifetime. Work opportunities lead him to own a roofing company for 8 years with a friend, as well as working road and house construction in Manitoba and Ontario. He married his soulmate Paula in 1992, and together they moved wherever work and family lead them. He worked at dairy farms in British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. He worked on a hog farm.

He was never scared to move to new places and try new things. Jack and Paula decided to move to Spalding, SK, in 1997. He started working for Prairie Truss Fabricating out of Annaheim, SK. First, he was a labourer, then shop foreman. He knew all aspects of the shop and enjoyed the challenges of truss manufacturing. He was precise, dedicated, and held high standards. He had a rich working relationship with his boss and greatly appreciated his crew at the shop. He respected them and spoke highly of them all, often. He enjoyed seeing customers, contractors, truck drivers, and inspectors.

Jack was a happy guy and loved to joke and tease. Everyone liked him! He was happiest when he was surrounded by his family, his kids, and six grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and a good campfire. He was a great protector of his family, a great listener, and loved his wife and kids with his whole heart. He would have done anything for them.

Jack’s life was suddenly cut short, but he had a life well lived. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his wife Paula, of 31 years; his children Jerry (Tasha), Shaun (Angelica), and Beth; his six grandchildren Kashton, Aleigha, Fjola, Charlie, Astrid,  and Crue; his siblings Irma (Walt), Dennis (Anne), and Steve (Audra); his cherished parents-in-law Ken and Norma; brother-in-law Tim (Deana); sisters-in-law Robyn and Jane; as well as much loved numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Mary, and his brother-in-law Bill.

A Celebration of Life Gathering was held on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church, Spalding, SK.
