The Humboldt Royal Canadian Legion is getting set for its Spring Market this Saturday, April 9. The craft trade show runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Humboldt Legion Hall. A Ukrainian lunch will be served from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

It’s a follow up to last fall’s successful Autumn Market, says Darcy Philipenko, organizer of the event.

“The one we hosted in the fall had a really great turnout, better than I thought for being the first one in October.”

The fall event was packed with vendors sporting a wide variety of home made foods, fashions, and housewares. Patrons will find a bit of a change up for the spring venture.

“On Saturday, we will have quite a few different vendors than we had in October,” Philipenko says. “I like to try and change it up.”

Among the new presenters patrons will be excited to see a home based chocolatier, just in time for Easter and Mother’s Day. There’s a home made clothing retailer with boho look fashions under the brand Reckless Outlaw.

Smokies, perogies, cabbage rolls and dessert are on the menu for lunch. The market will be followed by the supper with the same fare, and Philipenko says a few tickets are available followed up by well known artists Dixon County Rebels on stage.

Proceeds all go to the Humboldt Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion for maintenance and repairs on the hall roof.
