There are plenty of activities in store this Saturday, June 1 in the community of LeRoy with the Vendors’ Market, Car Show and Town Wide Garage Sale. The garage sales are strategically located throughout the town with the dust blown off all the spring and summer wares. The garage sale runs from 9 am until 12 noon.

Much of the rest of the action is centred around the LeRoy Arena, says recreation coordinator Amy Schreiner. It all kicks off early.

“The Recreation Board is putting on a pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 am. People can have breakfast and shop around town.”

During that time, the vendors for the display at the Arena begin to roll in as well as the cars for the car show. The show and shine goes from 11 until 2 just adjacent to the Arena.

“We’ve moved the show and shine this year. It’s not going to be on our main street. It’s a little bit closer to everything else that’s going on.”

The vendor market is scheduled from 11am to 3 pm with potential for a longer stay if things are busy.

Special guests in attendance will be Humboldt Ink who will be set up with their award-winning tattoo artistry available.

“They said absolutely they want to come and bring all three artists.”

A family in the regional Filipino community recently suffered a series of tragic losses including the loss of the family dwelling, the family’s mother, a child through miscarriage, and ultimately, the recent death of the husband, leaving a grieving widow.

“To the widow and children, Leo (of Humboldt Ink) wants to donate any profit he makes that day to her,” Schreiner explains. Connect with the story and find out how you can make a booking on the Humboldt Ink Facebook page. Spots are limited.
