Leslie Ann Marie Lefebvre
June 15, 1939 – February 11, 2023

On February 11, 2023, Leslie Ann (Les) passed away at Humboldt District Hospital in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. She was 83 years of age. Leslie was born in Wadena, SK, to David and Lilly (née Eskelson) Guest on June 15, 1939, and attended Sunderland and Tiger Lily Schools for her elementary years and graduated from Wadena High School. Upon completing her studies at Allen Business College in Saskatoon, SK, Les worked for Bowman Brothers where she met her future husband Gabriel Lefebvre. They were married on July 2, 1962. Les and Gabe lived in Saskatoon, then Winnipeg, Manitoba, came back to Saskatoon, and finally settled in Englefeld, SK, in 1971, where Les resided until her passing. Les stayed home and raised their five children until they were old enough to care for themselves and then went to work in Watson and Humboldt. Les and Gabe opened their own business in Englefeld where she worked until her retirement. Les, also known as the perogie lady, made many hundreds of dozens of perogies that many, many people loved. She also loved to crochet and knit, making afghans for loved ones and donating blankets and other items throughout her life. Les was a member of the Englefeld CWL for many years, was the Treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion Watson Branch #272 and Secretary for the AA group in Watson. She had so much love for her family and treasured family gatherings. Les will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by Gabe her husband of 60 years; her five children: Anita (Brian) ven der Buhs, Renita Lefebvre, David (Sheila) Lefebvre, Kal (Leisl) Lefebvre, and Kerry Lefebvre; five grandsons: Jordan (Kaytlyn) ven der Buhs, Jeremy (Jocelyn Doetzel) ven der Buhs, Justin (Stephanie) Lefebvre, Jarvis (Madisyn Nimegeers) Lefebvre, and Riley (Miranda Mann) Lefebvre; great-granddaughter Presley Lefebvre; sister Lilly Mae (Gordan) Millham; brothers-in-law: Lee Lefebvre, Daniel Lefebvre, Manny (Cindy) Lefebvre; sisters-in-law Pauline Reinelt and Mary Schmitz-Lefebvre; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents David and Lilly (née Eskelson) Guest; her parents-in-law Gustave and Marie (née Moisan) Lefebvre; in-laws: Marcel Lefebvre, Carl Reinelt, Anthony Koenig, Aline Lefebvre, Violet Lefebvre, Shirley Lefebvre, Marlene Lefebvre and Jeannine Koenig; and nephews Barry Lefebvre and Stuart Lefebvre. The Funeral Services for Leslie were both held at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church in Englefeld, with the Prayer Service Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., and the Funeral Mass Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. The presiders at the Prayer Service were Marie ven der Buhs and Patsy Knafelc, and Sheila Lefebvre and Leisl Lefebvre read the scripture readings. The Funeral Mass was offered by Fr. Francis Akomeah, and others taking part were: Jarvis Lefebvre, cross bearer; Brian ven der Buhs, and Gail Wittig, scripture readers; Ivy McGrath, intentions; Jeremy ven der Buhs, and Riley Lefebvre, gift bearers; Holy Guardian Angels Parish Choir, music ministry; Cindy Lefebvre, and Wanda Lefebvre, memorial table attendants; and Kal Lefebvre, and Justin Lefebvre, eulogists. Jordan ven der Buhs was the urn bearer; and an honor guard was formed by The Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Women’s League and The Watson Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. A Private Family Interment followed in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Cemetery, and the memorial luncheon was held afterwards in the Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church Basement.
