Lance Corporal Kennedy Ondong of 572 Humboldt Legion, Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, from Humboldt, attended a 5-day Cadet Activity Program on August 6.

Ondong joined other cadets to participate in fun, safe, challenging, activities such as hiking, sports, and marksmanship.

“All of the activities we’ve done so far are really fun, my favourite was heaving a line,” said Ondong.

Ondong joined cadets in 2022 to meet new people, to gain more knowledge and discipline. During the year, he participated in drills, survival activities, and sports.

“The people here are really nice and friendly, we’ve done and learned so many different things,” said Ondong.

Summer training is just some of the activities available to youth at local, regional, and national levels in the Canadian Cadet Program year-round. The Canadian Cadet Program is open to all youth between the ages of 12-18 years old. The Army Cadet Program focuses on physical activity and the outdoors.
