A pair of local slo-pitch teams ventured to Saskatoon to face their provincial counterparts in this year’s Slo-Pitch National (SPN) Provincial Tournament. The event took place on August 27-28.

Among the six teams in the tournament were the top top seeds, the Juice Pigs from Humboldt and Just Push Play with players from Watson and Humboldt. After the dust settled in round robin play, the Juice Pigs came out on top, while Just Push Play slid into second place.

That set up the local showdown between to two camps in the A side final. After a valiant effort by both sides, Just Push Play came out on top to secure the championship.

The result means both teams have qualified for the National Slo-pitch Tournament next summer in Winnipeg.
