Lorraine Beverly Sorokoski (ne Skarra)
July 3, 1939 – April 7, 2022

Lorraine was born on July 3, 1939, to Walter and Mary (née Perdinka) Skarra in Bruno, Saskatchewan. She grew up on the farm near Peterson, SK, attending school at Curwood, SK, and then in Dana, SK. Lorraine loved helping out on the farm. Always enjoying the outdoors, she was an avid gardener and fisherwoman. She took her passion for upholstery and turned it into her own business, which she ran for over 20 years, with her lifelong companion, Albert Blaseg. Shortly after his passing, Lorraine retired and moved to Bruno, SK. Upon moving to Bruno, she became an active member of the community, taking part in the CWL, Friendship Centre, and Prairie View. She was a great supporter of Bruno School, Lions Club and any other event or group in the local community. Lorraine was big on family. She especially enjoyed all functions that included her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her two children: Linda Dodds (Greg Alm), and Larry (Gloria) Sorokoski; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Rhonda (Randy) McPhee, Lisa Dodds, Christine Restall, Laura Dodds, Robyn Dodds, Daelynn Dodds, Carter Restall, Kimberly Fetter (Dave Bergermann) and Jay Johnson, Kiley and Bryce Fetter, and Ashtyn and Sierra Bergermann, Kayla (Travis) Shaw and Paige and Trinity Shaw, Lindsay (Scott) Huckle, Michael (Brittany) Sorokoski and Westyn and Sophie, and Kendra Sorokoski; brother Edward (Rita) Skarra; and sister-in-law Adeline Tice (Ron). She was predeceased by her longtime companion of 25 years, Albert Blaseg, Sylvester Sorokoski, and her father and mother, Walter and Mary (née Perdinka) Skarra. The Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, and the Funeral Mass, at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, were both offered for Lorraine at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church in Bruno, SK, and celebrated by Fr. Pius Schroh. Music ministry was led by members of the St. Bruno Parish Choir, and organist Annie Moritz. Others taking part were: Lindsay Huckle, Westyn Sorokoski, and Bryce Fetter, cross bearers; Kayla Shaw, Paige Shaw, and Kendra Sorokoski, scripture readers; Trinity Shaw and Kiley Fetter, intentions; Kimberly Fetter, eulogist; and Jane Strasser and Lucille Tegenkamp, memorial table attendants. The active pallbearers were: Edward Skarra, Michael Sorokoski, Travis Shaw, Scott Huckle, Dave Bergermann, and Glen Fetter, and “All those who shared in Lorraine’s life,” were noted as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Cemetery and a memorial luncheon was held afterwards in the St. Bruno Roman Catholic Parish Hall.
