Louise Agnes Boscher
February 17, 1932 – October 15, 2022

With family by her side, Louise Boscher passed away peacefully on October 15, 2022. She was 90 years of age. Louise was born to William and Elizabeth (née Strunk) Steiner on February 17, 1932, at Englefeld, SK, the eighth child in a family of ten. She took grades 1 to 12 at Englefeld and later attended Saskatoon Normal School and received her teaching certificate. On September 7, 1954, Louise married Paul Boscher in Holy Guardian Angel’s Roman Catholic Church in Englefeld. Together, they farmed in the St. Gregor area and raised a family of six – four sons and two daughters. Paul and Louise enjoyed farm life immensely. Yearly camping trips to Wakaw Lake and Greenwater Lake were fit into the farm routine, as were a few bus tours, especially later in their lifetimes. Louise was actively involved in community affairs. She taught kindergarten, participated in ladies curling, was Secretary of the Englefeld School Board of Trustees, a member of the New Horizon’s Club, enjoyed bowling, and was a lifelong member of the CWL. As pastimes, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, playing cards and tile rummy. In 2016, for health reasons, the family farm was sold, and Paul and Louise moved into the city to be closer to family, making Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Community their new home in Saskatoon, and Louise lived there until only a week before her passing. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her six children: Melvin of Saskatoon, SK, Mavis (Gary) Hartell of Saskatoon, SK, Randal of Prince Albert, SK, Debra (Murray) Fry of Martensville, SK, Lyle (Leah) of Saskatoon, SK, and Roger of Calgary, AB; nine grandchildren: Breanne (Andrew) Couperthwaite, Logan and Tyson Hartell, Devon and Nikki Fry; Candice, Noelle, Larissa and Dustin Boscher; one great-grandchild Noah Sheinin; one brother, Daniel Steiner (Terry Struck) of Humboldt, SK; three sisters-in-law: Carole Steiner of Saskatoon, SK, Marie ven der Buhs of Englefeld, SK, and Hildegard (Keith) Martin of Saskatoon, SK; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her husband Paul; daughter Theresia; her parents, William and Elizabeth (née Strunk) Steiner; brothers, sisters, and in-laws: Carl, Mathew (Eileen), Werner (Eileen), Florian (Katherine), William, Everetta (Paul Wacholtz), Armella (August Reiter), Leonilla (Ed Fisher), and Marianne Steiner; Paul’s parents, Frank and Theresia Boscher; Edwin (Thelma), Daniel, Robert (Myrna), Henry ven der Buhs; and several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, St. Gregor, SK, on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Prosper Abotsi. Others taking part were: Elaine Lueke, crossbearer; David Zimmerman, altar server; Daniel Steiner and Louise Blais, scripture readers; Lyle Boscher, intentions; Breanne Couperthwaite and Nikki Fry, giftbearers; Melvin Boscher, eulogist; Cheryl McLean and Darlene Perry, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by organist Suzanne Taphorn and members of the St. Gregory Parish Choir. An honor guard was formed by members of the Englefeld Catholic Women’s League. Honorary pallbearers were all members of the Catholic Women’s League. Active pallbearers were Logan Hartell, Tyson Hartell, Dustin Boscher, Andrew Couperthwaite, Barry Steiner, and Devon Fry. Interment followed at the St. Gregory Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in Louise’s memory may be directed either to the St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church Cemetery Fund (P.O.
