Lloydminster RCMP received a call on September 6, around 2:45 am about shots fired in the city. Investigators determined the vehicle was a black, newer model Ford Mustang, and alerted nearby RCMP to be on the lookout.
Shortly after, around 3:49 in the morning, Maidstone RCMP got a call about shots fired in the RM of Brittania, with investigators determining it was the black Mustang.
Multiple people left the vehicle and started checking vehicles parked in the driveway of a home, and when the homeowner came to the door, a shot was fired towards the homeowner. RCMP says the bullets struck the house, and that nobody was injured.
Around 4 in the morning, Maidstone RCMP got another report about the Mustang, this time attempting to steal fuel from another residence in the RM of Britannia.
At 7:00 am, an emergency alert was issued by Saskatchewan RCMP to inform the public of the incidents involving the black Mustang.
Maidstone RCMP received multiple reports of the vehicle leaving Lloydminster towards Onion Lake Cree Nation. Multiple Saskatchewan and Alberta RCMP units, Saskatchewan Highway Patrol officers and conservation officers from the Provincial Protective Services Branch, Wilton Police Service, RCMP Police Dog Services and the Lloydminster Rescue Squad searched for it.
The vehicle was shortly located and disabled by using a spike belt. An RCMP investigation determined the vehicle had been reported stolen from Paynton on September 5.
They fled from the vehicle, and two were later located and arrested in a camper within the community, and a third was located and arrested in a forested area close to the car.
Later that evening, RCMP say they arrested two more females in the community.
