The Bruno Cherry Festival is back this Sunday, August 7. Along with the usual Bruno hospitality, the event grounds at St. Therese Missions are the one-day home to a full-out celebration of the prairie sour cherry.

This year’s cherry chairperson is Jody Tremel. Jodi tells us about all the wonderful things that await at the 2022 edition of the Festival.

“It’s going to be exciting as always. We have entertainment going from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, but we’re starting the day off with a pancake breakfast, and that is sponsored by the St. Therese Institute that starts at 8:00 am at the Cherry Festival grounds.”

This year’s vendor market hosts no fewer than 27 local businesses and artisans. Everything from home produce to paintings and pottery to jewelry will be on display and for sale. Children will be entertained by a talented balloon artist and face painting.

Of course no trip to the Cherry Festival would be complete without the wide array of cherry themed delicacies provided by four different food vendors.

“There are cherry sundaes, cherry elephant ears, cherry smokies from the Bruno Lions Club, and there will also be U-Pick sour cherries from the orchard courtesy of Everyday Farms. There are cherry tarts as well, so there’s lots of different stuff to choose from,” says Tremel.  Sundaes are provided by Bruno School and the cherry topped elephant ears are courtesy of the Bruno Golf Club. A beer garden will be on site.

There is no admission fee to the event; a silver collection will be taken at the entrance. Everyone is invited to another warm and welcoming Cherry Festival in beautiful Bruno.
