Marilynn Caroline Meyer (née Vanderlinde)
March 29, 1940 – June 29, 2022

It is with sadness in their hearts that the family of Marilynn Meyer (née Vanderlinde) announces her passing on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Humboldt District Hospital. She was 82 years of age. The firstborn child of Ed and Clara Vanderlinde (née Hoffmann), Marilynn lived her life in the Annaheim district. Growing up on the farm, she shared many chores with her siblings and her schooling took place in Annaheim. One of her early jobs was working for the Kramers in Annaheim. In the summer of 1959, Marilynn began her own family when she married Erwin Henry Meyer, on June 6, 1959, and she devoted herself to being a wife and mother. A highlight of their family vacations was travelling to the USA for family reunions. In 1980, Marilynn and Erwin, and part owners Orville Theisen and Randy Meyer, started a new venture when they decided to build the Post Hotel in Annaheim, which they ran, along with the help of their children, until retiring in 1996. Erwin and Marilynn both put family first. In their retirement they enjoyed their camping spot at Barrier Lake for several years where their kids gathered and enjoyed the delicious meals that Marilynn loved to make. Another pastime was going on bus trips with friends to many different casinos. She was a dear and treasured part of our lives and we will miss her dearly. Marilynn will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband and best friend of 63 years, Erwin; their children and their families: Gary (Sharreen) Meyer, Merit Meyer and fiancée Jody and great-grandson Theo, Dylan (Brittiny) Meyer, and Kaylee Meyer; and Donna (Randy) Crone, Kyle (Ashley) Klashinsky and great-grandchildren Gabrielle and Cameron, Jenna (Dustin) Huebner and great-grandsons Teagen and Gage, and Brandon (fiancée Miranda) Crone; sisters: Brenda Meyer, Irene (Lyle) Puetz, and Pat Timmermann, and their families; brother Jerome (Phylis) Vanderlinde and family; sisters-in-law Maxine Vanderlinde (special friend Rod), and Evelyn (Willie) Sarauer and their famil; and brothers-in-law Orville Meyer, and Ray (Gloria) Meyer, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Ed and Clara Vanderlinde (née Hoffmann); son Keith (infancy); daughter-in-law Arlene; son-in-law Lyle Klashinsky; brother Art Vanderlinde; parents-in-law Paul and Elizabeth Meyer; sisters-in-law: Delphine Meyer and Bernice Meyer; brothers-in-law: Ed Timmerman, Clifford Meyer, and Lloyd Meyer; and nephew Jarred Vanderlinde, and nephew-in-law Sheldon Sperling. The Private Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel in Humboldt, officiated by Fr. Colin Roy. Scripture readings were read by Gage Huebner, Donna Klashinsky-Crone offered the prayer intentions, and Erwin Meyer was the urn bearer. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Annaheim.
