Englefeld School took one more step closer to the completion of its unique outdoor play environment thanks to a contribution of $5000 from Midway Co-op. The cheque presentation was made to Principal Corinne Harcourt by Midway Co-op GM Wayne Dale.

“This is very exciting,” Harcourt told a gathering of students. “This money brings us up to $99,590. We’re almost at $100,000. That doesn’t include the donated time, machines, work and the sixty-two loads of earth.”

Harcourt reminded the students that the project was born out of their feedback provided by the Our School survey students had taken.

“It’s important for Midway Co-op to give back to the communities in our trade area,” said Dale on the donation. “Englefeld is one of the local communities where we have a good membership base. It’s important for us to acknowledge being part of the communities and part of their growth and project plans for the future.

Midway Co-op has been active in community ventures since its establishment in 1938. Its retail outlets in LeRoy and Watson serve a wide area, including Englefeld.
