With the warmer temperatures, people start to think about the summer months and get excited about all the outdoor events.

The City of Humboldt is preparing to host one of Humboldt’s biggest summer events, and that is the Summer Sizzler.

This year, the Summer Sizzler will take place June 29 - July 1, combined with Canada Day Celebrations.

Amelia Hillier, Event Services Manager, explained why the dates have been changed from the previous years, “We wanted to ensure that this year we were able to bring the Midway back, so we needed to work with the date that was available with that company.”

With the Midway making a return for three days of non-stop fun, there will also be plenty of other events to partake in and plenty of food to snack on, says Hillier.

“Along with the rides they will also have food like burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, and poutine, along with all the favourites like cotton candy, candy apples, snow cones, elephant ears, and mini doughnuts to name a few.”

Free events will be going on throughout the weekend, such as a reptile exhibit, face painting, and a caricaturist that will all be located in the Meeting Rooms that will be open to the road beside the Midway.

Alongside all the events, none can beat the famous parade that will take place on Saturday, July 1.

“The parade will be July 1st, and you can start your Canada Day off with a pancake breakfast at Civic Park and stay to enjoy the much-anticipated Sizzler Parade.”

Those looking to enter the parade can contact the city by clicking here and can find more information.

“This year's event will be a great way to kick off the summer, and we are so excited to be able to bring back the Midway.”
