It was a weekend of mixed results for the Humboldt Broncos as they doubled down with the Nipawin Hawks. The Broncos suffered a 4-3 Friday night loss.

Going into the third the Broncos were ahead by a goal, thanks to a first period opener by Ben Kotylak and a follow up by Cage Newans in the second. However, a quick trio of period 3 Hawks goals, including a pair by Alex Ochitwa, put the Broncos in the red. Ethan Zielke, with support from Cage Newans and Tim Kim, narrowed the gap to one, but it was too little, too late.

The Broncos turned the tables on Saturday back at home with  a 4-2 victory. The squads went into the second period all tied up at two.

Then late in the second, the Broncos Ethan Zielke went to work with the go ahead, assisted by Matt Van Balraicom and Tim Kim, and Lucas Cecarelli sealed the deal with a marker at the end of the third, with support from Daylan Weigel and Zielke.

Next Broncos action is Wednesday at home with a tilt against Flin Flon. Get to the EPA for the 7:30 puck drop and listen to the call on 107.5 Bolt FM.
