The Muenster 18U AA Red Sox ran into a strong offense and defense in last night’s double header with the Unity Cardinals dropping both games to their western rivals.
Muenster hopped out to an early 3-1 lead after 1 thanks to a double by Chase Sylvestre, a single by Jayden Sparks and a sacrifice by Owen Edwards. However, the Unity squad went to work in the 4th with singles by Carter Ralston, Colbey Frocklage and a double by Hunter Sperle, resulting in a 7-3 lead.
Muenster would tally another couple runs in the 5th and 6th, but it was too little, too late as the Cards walked away with a 9-5 victory, despite Muenster’s out hitting their opponents 9-7.
In the second game, the Red Sox dug deep to handle a runaway freight, but to no avail as the Cardinals ran away with it early in a 16-1 finish that ended after 5. Muenster’s sole run came in the 2nd inning on a walk to Preston Dyok.
The regular season wraps up for the AA Red Sox this weekend in Moose Jaw and Swift Current.
