After several years of metal marketing and over a year of renovations, the Muenster Community Centre is finally set for a grand re-opening celebrating its new lift elevator. The event comes complete with the famous Muenster Chicken Supper on November 26.

The Community Centre groups regularly hold the suppers as fundraisers for the hall that anchors village cultural and arts events. Now with the lift, all parts of the venue are accessible regardless of age or ability of participants.

“We’ve had an outdoor ramp with outdoor carpeting that was our wheelchair access,” explains Mile Jorgenson, chair of the Muenster Community Centre Committee. “It didn’t get to the basement at all. Now we can go from our main entrance on the inside either up or down, and we can serve everybody in the community.”

The lift creates much more versatility in how the hall can be used, and it opens up new possibilities for organizations looking for a place to hold meetings, events, dances, or trade shows.

“We are hoping that we can attract anyone who needs a place to gather for any reason at all, whether from Muenster, Humboldt or elsewhere. The hall is a cheaper alternative for many events.”

There are 200 tickets available for the celebratory chicken feast, and they’re sure to go fast, so don’t delay and get yours soon. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Muenster Co-op, Eastside Liquidation in Muenster, Brickhouse Clothing, and Uptown Barbers.
