On August 14, Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue received a call at 9:53 in the evening about a vehicle hitting a moose on Highway 41, 15 kilometres east of Wakaw. 

Multiple vehicles are reported to be involved in the collision, including a vehicle with a livestock trailer. Multiple animals were reported injured by the Fire and Rescue team. 

Two rescue engines, one command unit, EMS, and RCMP were on scene. Stars Air Ambulance was dispatched to the scene but stood down after emergency services arrived. 

Crews were on scene for 4 hours doing traffic control, scene cleanup and providing medical assistance.
