The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation announced negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement will resume on Wednesday.

An invitation was extended by the Teachers Bargaining Committee (TBC) was accepted by the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee.

The TBC extended the invitation following the teachers rejected a tentative provincial collective agreement last week.

Sanctions will not be implemented while negotiations are taking place. If there is an impasse in negotiations, sanctions may be imposed with 48 hours’ notice.

Previously, Premier Scott Moe said binding arbitration was the next “logical step” towards an agreement with the teachers.

Appearing on a provincial talk show last week, Moe said “That will get all of us to an agreement as soon as possible. It’s for certain the fastest way (and) the fairest way.”
