For Kelly Block, Monday night's election featured a new riding but the result was the same, a resounding number of votes allowing her to return to Ottawa as the Member of Parliament for Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek.

Block admitted Monday night it's bitter sweet to be a winner on a night the Conservatives lost power.

"I am very grateful to have been chosen by the constituents of Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek to represent them for the next four years but yes somewhat surprised and disappointed at the results nationally."

The Liberals finished with 184 seats, 15 more than needed to secure a majority government. The Conservatives will have 99, the New Democrats claimed 44 seats, the Bloc Quebecois will have 10 MP's in the House, the Green Party will be represented by their leader Elizabeth May.

Despite not participating in two local candidate forums, Block still believes she connected with the members of the riding which showed in the results.

"I am very pleased to say we did that. What constituents are going to be able to see from me as as their representative is a commitment to continue to doing that. To stay connected to communities all across this riding and take their concerns to Ottawa."

Block(25,992, 64.7%) is one of ten Saskatchewan Conservative seats voted in Monday in the 42nd general election, that's down from the 12 they had in 2011. She defeated the NDP's Glenn Wright(7,498, 18.7%), Liberal Alex Slusar(5,773, 14.4%) and the Green's Lynn Oliphant(902, 2.2%).

The former mayor of Waldheim says they couldn't have won her third election without a strong team.

"I had a tremendous team and again I am very grateful for the team that came around me. All of the volunteers from right across this huge riding, from every corner of this riding came out to help me win this election. I owe them a huge debt of gratitude, this one is really for them."

This is Block's third federal win, her first in this riding as they were redrawn prior to the election, she has previously served as the MP for Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar.
