Everyone should have a place to go on Christmas Day. It’s why A&W restaurant in Humboldt will have its doors open from 2 - 6 pm on Christmas Day for those who need a place to go and some people to spend time with. While the restaurant will not be serving its traditional fare, it will have hot beverages like tea and coffee, along with soft drinks, milk, juice and some Christmas treats. All of those are provided to attendees for free.

Last year, the Legion Hall was the Christmas gathering place for those who needed a meal, shelter or companionship. This year, due to a set of circumstances, the organizers were unable to offer the same event. So A&W manager Colleen Cornelius and some of her staff, assisted by a monetary donation from Michael Behiel, acting as a private citizen, stepped up to offer the restaurant as a social hub.

The restaurant will be closed for business, but open as a warm and inviting haven for those who seek people to share a Christmas treat and some time with.
