Sheep, cattle, horses, and the odd tractor were put on display at the Nokomis Fair on Saturday.

The event also included a slo-pitch tournament, along with tractor pulls and an agricultural showcase.

Bob Turner from the Nokomis fair Organizing Committee says this can't be done without volunteers.

"Well our committee we have, the directors, I would like to thank them. The volunteers that step up to help us in the kitchens, whatever, set up, clean up all of this."

The event brings people from all over the area, Turner describes what all was there to enjoy at the fair.

"We have horse shows, we have tractor pulls, vintage tractor pulls, we have heavy horse pulls, mutton busting, cattle shows, tradeshows, entertainment for the kids, magic shows, bouncy castles, face painting, balloon tying. A real variety of things for everybody."

He also talks about what makes the Nokomis fair unique.

"What makes it unique? It's a community and other surrounding communities getting together to display their livestock, come in to visit, come and play ball, whatever, just a community gathering."

Nokomis' fair hasn't missed a year since it's incorporation and is known to be the longest running small-town such type in Saskatchewan, running every year since 1908.
