Norbert  Henry  Schultz
December 18, 1939 – July 6, 2016

The death of Norbert  Schultz occurred at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt SK on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.  He was 76 years of age.  Norbert was born on Monday, December 18, 1939 to August and Anna (nee Meyer) Schultz at Humboldt, Saskatchewan.  He grew up on the family farm near Annaheim, SK, and attended school in the area.  Norbert began his career as a drywaller and his speciality was his swirl ceilings.  He was well known for his excellent work and the pride he took in performing it.    Norbert stayed living on the family farm where he helped his late brother Sylvester with some farming and yard work.  When Syl became sick Norbert became his full-time caregiver, driving him to Saskatoon three times per week, and making sure he got to all of his appointments.  Norbert enjoyed family get-togethers, going for coffee regularly at his family’s homes, and also at Trans Restaurant in Humboldt.  He also enjoyed fishing and driving around the country side.  He was well known for offering his free advice and “counselling” to his nieces and nephews.  In addition, Norbert was a good story teller, but he was always adding a little extra to his stories to spice them up.  He will be missed very much by his family and all his friends. Norbert will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by three brothers  and two sisters:  Daniel Schultz of Hudson Bay, SK, and his family Glen, Patricia, Julia, Brent, and Lee; Donald (Mildred) Schultz of Humboldt, SK,  and their family Grant and Victoria; Dale (Linda) Schultz of Humboldt, SK, and their family Dennette and Tracy; Dorothy Ann (Gerald) Olson of Plenty, SK, and their family Ole, Sylvia, Arlen and Harley; and Annabelle (Lloyd) Frank of Annaheim, SK and their family Corinne, Bruce, Kim, Owen, and Tammy; brother-in-law Ted Vossler of Surrey, BC, and his son Gregory; and sister-in-law Caroline Rohel of West Lake, BC; the family of the late Bernard Schultz: Howard, Ronald, Debra, Marvin, Reginald, Linda, Wesley and Leah; the family of the late Edward Schultz: Shirley-Ann, and Genevieve; the family of the late Augusta McDonald: Sheila, Martin, and Kerry; the family of the late Maurice Schultz: Cyril, and Maureen; and by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, August and Anna (nee Meyer) Schultz; three sisters:  Bernice Vossler, Augusta (Ian) McDonald and Jean (George) Milbery; six brothers:  Roderick, Sylvester, Edward, Martin, Maurice (Lena) Schultz and Bernard (Marion) Schultz; and by two nieces and two nephews.  A private family graveside service was held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Annaheim, SK, officiated by Fr. Anthony Atter. Honorary pallbearers were “all those who shared in Norbert’s life”.  Interment followed at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Annaheim, SK.  Memorial donations directed to Stars Air Ambulance, or St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund, Annaheim, SK would be greatly appreciated.
