Huge congratulations go out to the FIBA Women’s 3x3 Basketball Team for once again capturing the Women’s Series title in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on Sunday. The team took the final game by a single point margin on a buzzer beating shot by Humboldt’s own Paige Crozon. Crozon and the Plouffe sisters Katherine and Michelle have been a force in women’s 3x3 basketball for years, and the latest victory further cements their place as dominant figures.
During the competition, the Canadian women went undefeated, polishing off the rival USA team along the way in the semi-finals. Once again, France went toe to toe with the Canadians in the final as they had the previous year.
While Crozon sealed the deal with the dramatic game ending shot, Katherine Plouffe paved the way with her game-high 10-point contribution. Michelle Plouffe earned MVP honours with the most points contributed in the tournament, 33, and a stellar 21 plus rebounds during the event.
Overall, the Canadian women took 23 events in total over their Women’s Series season.
