With additional supplies left over, the Back to School Supply Drive held by PARTNERS Family Services was a huge help to the families in need in our community.

Executive Director, Hayley Kennedy, promotes the importance of helping not only Humboldt but communities within a small radius.

"We want to make sure that we are able to reach some families in our surrounding communities as well. PARTNERS does serve a radius of one hundred kilometres from the city and we know that there are other families who need as well. We did receive a few donations from smaller communities and we want to make sure that they know that work was really appreciated."

PARTNERS Family Services' office is open Monday to Friday and anyone in need of or looking to drop off supplies is encouraged to drop by.

Sponsors are part of the reason any business or organization becomes successful in their efforts. Kennedy listed some of the bigger sponsors that made this campaign possible.

"We got a really fantastic early boost from SPOTLIGHT Corporate and Sportswear Limited when they donated 30 backpacks for us in early August. Then Humboldt Co-op came on board and they made a donation of two hundred and fifty dollars for us that we were able to use to purchase those harder school supplies like calculators. Then finally, Crazed Illusions and Curves collected supplies as well as financial donations to help donate to the campaign this year."

PARTNERS would also like to thank individuals in the community, churches, and other organizations, for their hard work and donations that supported the families in need.

Each year has a different outcome and with that, Kennedy talked about the goals that were exceeded in their efforts to supply families with supplies for the new school year,

"Just absolutely thrilled for the support that we received both from businesses here in the community and the individuals. Our goal for this year was to be able to supply thirty families with their school supplies and we were actually able to fulfill the needs of 36 families and we actually still have some additional supplies."

The organization will continue to accept and distribute donations year round and those supplies can be dropped off or picked up at their office on 5th avenue.
