September 20, 1958 – November 29, 2021
The family and friends of Patricia McCord are sad to announce her passing on November 29, 2021, at Humboldt District Hospital in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. She was 63 years of age. Pat (Patsy) was the second born of four children to James McCord, originally from Alabama, USA, and Dorothy McCord (née Maier), of Regina, SK. As her father worked on the pipeline in the USA and Canada, Pat and her siblings moved a great deal in their younger years. Her parents bought a house in Regina when the children were school age. In 1967, Pat’s mother took over her father’s business, Wheelers Wholesale, in Humboldt, SK, and the family settled in town as well. Pat’s greatest passion, by far, was her family. She had two sons, Justin, and Daniel, that now both continue to reside in Humboldt. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her boys and to her granddaughter, Acadia McCord-Southcott. The family enjoyed many weekend trips, with her sister, Joyce McCord, to her cabin at Manitou Beach. Pat also enjoyed fishing, bingo, bowling, and cooking traditional family recipes such as cabbage rolls, corn bread, and butter beans. Seldom would she be seen without a cup of coffee in her hand. Pat was a kind and gentle soul. She was very soft spoken and had a heart of gold. She was well known as the “neighbourhood mom,” and was always willing to help anyone out when she could. Pat and her sister Joyce, “Tree”, McCord had a lifelong bond. They grew up together and were very close, all the way to her last moments. She will always be lovingly remembered and missed by many. Pat will be lovingly remembered and fondly missed by her two children, Justin McCord, and Daniel (Melissa) McCord; her granddaughter Acadia McCord-Southcott; her siblings: MaryAnn McCord, and family, Bridgette Hartsfield, and Tommy McCord+; Joyce McCord (brother-in-law Norm Lang), and daughter Jolene Lang; and James McCord (Lita Laird), and family Jeffrey McCord, Jason McCord, and James Jr. McCord; and by her special aunt, Thelma Ewert. She is predeceased by her parents, James A. McCord, and Dorothy McCord (née Maier), and nephew, Tommy McCord. A Graveside Service was held for Pat on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Humboldt Public Cemetery, in Humboldt, SK. Memorial donations may be directed to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan (200-4545 Parliament Avenue, Regina, SK, S4W 0G3).
