Phillip Gaudreau
September 12, 1949 – October 24, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Phillip Theodore Gaudreau, 73 years, of Pilger, SK announce his sudden and unexpected death on Monday, October 24, 2022. Phillip was born to Louis and Muriel (nee Jones) Gaudreau on September 12, 1949 in Humboldt. He attended Colorado School in Pilger until the age of 15. He left school and began working for Leslie Pomedli, cutting brush. He then worked for Kirsh Construction and drove all the different machines. Phil decided to upgrade his schooling and obtained his Grade 12. He then took his Mechanics course in Moose Jaw and began working at Western Dodge. Phillip married the love of his life Rita Elizabeth Lohneis at Sacred Heart Parish in Watson on September 9, 1972. They moved to Humboldt where he began working at numerous car dealerships and took over his grandfather’s farm near Pilger. They had their first son, Aaron when living in Humboldt. They then moved to Pilger, adding a daughter Reneé and second son Derek to their family. Phillip started farming full time as well as working for various trucking companies. When Aaron began farming with him, he had more time and took on a few more jobs. He worked for Kirsh Construction again and then his last five years he worked for REACT in Humboldt. Phillip found time to serve his communities by being involved in the Humboldt Curling Club, the Pilger Recreation Board and as a councillor for the RM of Three Lakes. Phillip loved driving with the music cranked up. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, but he loved curling. Phillip lived life to the fullest. They enjoyed many trips to Cuba over the years. He loved to farm, curl, laugh, and dance especially with his many family and friends. He made an impression on everybody he met and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Phillip will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 50 years Rita Gaudreau of Pilger; their three children and seven grandchildren: Aaron (Kim) Gaudreau and sons Luke and Logan of Middle Lake, Renee (Darcy) and their children Colt and Kenzie of Hudson Bay and Derek (Rhonda) and children Sienna, Dawson and Whitney of Martensville; two brothers-in-law: Jim (Lillian) and Mel (Rhonda) and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Louis and Muriel Gaudreau, his Auntie Ruth and Uncle Gordon Moore, and his grandparents Albert and Elizabeth Jones. The Funeral Mass for Phillip was held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. Interment followed at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pilger District. Memorial donations in Phillip’s memory may be made to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation or the Humboldt Curling Club.
