Humboldt and area Pride Network kicked off Pride week yesterday by hosting a concert at St. Andrews Anglican Church, the original plan was to be in Civic Park, but due to the weather, it was moved indoors. 

There were around 22 people in attendance to take in the music and spoken word.

On Monday, a pride flag ceremony was held at 12:00 pm at City Hall and will be followed by a pride paint party at 7:00 pm at Westminster United Church with artist Kayla Hanson. The paint party has limited spots, with only 30 seats available. Tickets to the party are $40 per person and can be purchased on Humboldt and Area Pride Network Facebook Page. 

Tuesday, June 14, a drag show will be held at the Bella Vista Inn called “Katy Perry - Teenage Dream Drag Show.” Doors open at 7:00 pm, with the show starting at 8:00 pm. Presale tickets are $25, and tickets at the door are $30. Tickets can be purchased online 

Wednesday, June 15, a diversity service will be held at Westminster United Church at 7:00 pm featuring Rev. Janae Brownley called “Rural, Queer and Christian?”

Following Wednesday, bowling is offered on Thursday at Kemway Lanes from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. 

The week of events will end Friday, June 17, with a preschool story time at the Reid-Thompson Public Library at 2:00 pm.
