Saskatchewan residents at risk for serious COVID-19 outcomes are eligible for an additional second booster dose as of April 11. That means a fourth shot of vaccine can be delivered, three months following their previous boost, to those who meet the criteria.

The expanded criteria includes all Saskatchewan residents 70 years or older and All residents of First Nations communities and the Northern Service Administration District 50 years and older

A government release notes that this is in addition to all residents of long-term and personal care homes and those with designated health conditions who have been eligible for fourth doses since February.

Those eligible can begin booking their fourth doses appointment through the Saskatchewan Health Authorities booking line at  1-833-SASKVAX (727-5829). The online booking system is not available to this group; however, eligible recipients can get the shot at participating pharmacies.

The fourth dose program is likely to be expanded to all Saskatchewan residents 50 years and older by the first week in May.
