The snow falls, it gets cold and the time comes where parents everywhere in Canada are waking up early, drinking coffee, and hauling gear to rinks in different communities before the sun has even touched the horizon.

What is this madness we are carrying out? Well I got my first taste of it this weekend as my son is in his first year of initiation hockey.

That's exactly what it is, Hockey season takes over Canadian rinks.

Parents and siblings, young or old, gather to watch as their younger brothers or sisters lace up skates and chase the rubber black puck.

Some of these kids are super skaters and great shots. I was impressed with the different range of skills from high level for young kids to ones who were just learning to skate. The coaches defiently have their hands full but obviously do a great job.

My overall view on this whole waking up early and being a hockey mom... let's just say I am much better behind a microphone that early then out in public. But hey it's a learning curve, right?
