A male was located by RCMP police officers deceased inside a residence in Langham around 11:40 a.m.

The residence was on fire earlier in the day. It’s believed the deceased person is Justin Heimbecker, but this cannot be confirmed at this time. Police believe there is no further risk to public safety. Shelter in place was cancelled around noon.

RCMP Major Crimes states its in the early stages of this investigation and therefore cannot provide further details at this time.

One person is reported dead following a morning shooting in Langham, SK. 

RCMP have identified Justin Heimbecker as a suspect in the shooting. Heimbecker is described as 6 feet 3 inches tall with brown eyes. Heimbecker was last seen on foots and is believed to be armed. His whereabouts is currently unknown and it is unknown at this time whether he has access to a vehicle.

The Saskatchewan RCMP is issuing a dangerous person alert for Langham, SK, and surrounding areas following a shooting incident in the community earlier this morning. The suspect is a male, last seen travelling on foot. He is believed to be armed. It is unknown where the suspect is at this time. RCMP are responding.

The RCMP is asking people in the are to seek immediate shelter or shelter in place. They advise closing and locking doors and windows and not leaving a secure location. Do not pick up hitch hikers. Do not disclose police locations.
