REACT Waste Management has updated information for its Household Hazardous Waste Days. The initiative is a partnership with GFL Environmental to help people dispose of hazardous, flammable or toxic home products by dropping them off at REACT transfer stations at designated days and times.

An updated release from REACT outlines the materials that will be accepted. Residents are reminded that the program is for residential materials only and not for business or commercial use. 

PHYSICALLY HAZARDOUS (Fuel cylinders, non-refillable) - 1 lb propane cylinders, camp fuel cylinder, butane cylinder, MAPP gas torch fuel cylinder, ethyl ether engine starter cylinder, lighters & lighter refills

AEROSOLS (flammable, toxic and corrosive)– lubricant, spray glue, insect repellent, brake cleaner, solvent

FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS- acetone, bbq lighter fluid, camping fuel, flammable degreaser, flammable fuel additives, flammable liquid additives, flammable lubricants, fondue fuel, gasoline, gasoline contaminated w/ oil or water (must be in a good jerry can), kerosene, methanol, methyl hydrate, mineral spirits, paint stripper/ remover, paint thinner, turpentine, varsol, windshield washer fluid, autobody filler

CORROSIVE (liquid or solid) – rust remover, masonry cleaner, pool & hot tub chemicals, grout cleaner, ammonia, bleach

TOXIC (liquid) – furniture stripper, automotive additives, lubricants, tar & bug remover

PESTICIDES (liquid or solid) – yard & garden chemical, anti-fouling paint, pet product, sanitize

The following are accepted through REACT at not charges: antifreeze and antifreeze containers, oil filters, used oil and oil containers or jugs (at sites with used oil collection facilities. Collection will be free on the assigned day.)

Paint in any container is not accepted.
