It was a tight a race as you could see in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League last night, but the Sask 5 Giants narrowly outpaced the East Central 18U AAA Red Sox in a 2-1 pitchers’ duel.

Adam Korte took the mound for the Sox facing Ben Hosegood from the Giants. Korte tallied 13 outs during his stand while Hosegood surrendered three hits and one run over six innings. The Giants had their two runs squared away in the top of the sixth.

In the bottom of the sixth, Marek Yeager drove in Cam Marshak, but that represented the sole Red Sox run of the evening. Joel Bauml went 2-for –4 at the plate to lead the Red Sox in hits. The Sox also shone on defense with two double plays advancing their cause.

The Sox head out tonight to take on the Zone 7 Sun Devils.
