The City of Humboldt announced the return of the Humboldt Summer Sizzler fair after a 2 year absence. A release from the City notes that the event will have a bit of a different look this year, but promises to be a host of unique experiences for all ages.

One notable change is that unfortunately, the company who typically provides the midway, and who was booked for 2022, cancelled on short notice due to lack of employees. According to the company owners, they were shut down for the past 2 years due to provincial restrictions and they have been unsuccessful in refilling positions vacated during the pandemic.

The release goes on to state that the midway pull out is a disappointment, but the City’s Community Event Coordinator has gone above and beyond to find new activities, events and entertainment to help fill the void left by the midway. Some of these highlights include motocross stunt performers, bouncy castles and inflatables, paddle boats, water walking balls, mechanical bull riding, and a dueling pianos show, just to name a few. She has also confirmed the return of community favorites, such as the parade, BBQ’s, a pancake breakfast, Comic Con, and the Strong Person Competition.

Summer Sizzler Fair 2022 will take place in various locations throughout Humboldt from Wednesday, June 15 to Saturday, June 18. Some events are free, while other activities require a wristband that can be purchased at the Uniplex after Friday, May 20.
