There may not have been much sunshine, but tons of smiling faces lit up Glen Hall Park on Saturday for the Solestice Classic Track and Field Meet.

The meet is designed for young people as an introduction to track and field events and as an encouragement to be active in individual and group sports. There were plenty of parents and family members enjoying the action, and certainly the kids were too.

“We have about 115 kids running, jumping and throwing today, and we’re still always looking for those numbers to increase,” said organizer Nicole Unrau the day of the event. “So look for us in future years.”

There were plenty of volunteers working at the events, along with those from the Independent Travel Club serving burgers. Sask Athletics was a sponsor of the meet, helping to make it free for all participants.

The rain held off and conditions were great for fun and competition in the park with this year’s Solestice Track and Field Meet. Enjoy some images from the day.
