A great turn out packed the commons area at Humboldt Collegiate for a special Bingo and Badminton fundraiser. It was in aid of Carleen Theissing, an educational assistant beloved in the school and throughout the community, as she begins a battle with cancer.

Teachers teamed up with students, parents with children, and alumni with youth in the badminton tournament. The schedule rotated throughout the day with non-stop action on the court. The pancake breakfast drew out the early morning crowd, many of whom stayed for the bingo games. Celebrity callers like HCI’s hallowed son Bob Bellamy kept the balls tumbling and the action flowing.

Throughout the day, attendees wandered the commons bidding on the wonderful items donated at the silent auction table.

Enjoy some of the sights from this one of a kind fundraising. Thanks to all who attended, and thanks to the hard-working staff of HCI for putting together a touching event for their colleague.
