It was a pair of rough and tumble affairs for the Broncos this pre-season weekend.

Friday night kicked off with a game that had the earmarks of postseason as the Broncos scored no fewer than 5 short handed goals on their way to a 7-4 win over the Kindersley Klippers. Cage Newans opened the scoring for the Broncos who took command of the first period with four unanswered goals. Penalties took a toll on the Broncos as Kindersley scored their four goals on power plays, but Ben Kotylak and Connor Casparie notched the shorthanded finishers to wrap this one up.

Then on Saturday the penalty minutes mounted for both the Melfort Mustangs and the Broncos in another fistacuff laden duel. This time Melfort came out on top 6-2. Melfort put the Broncos in a 5-zip hole at the start of the third period, but newcomers Rhett Gibson and Maddox Amaral found the net for the Broncos in the third. The Broncos amassed 83 minutes in penalties to the Mustangs 71 as the pre-season action continues to heat up.

It all leads up to the season opener this Saturday when the Notre Hounds come to town.
