One tie, one loss, and a pair of wins - that's the tally for the East Central AAA 18U Red Sox at the Sask Selects Tournament this past long weekend.

Friday brought the Red Sox up against the Calgary Cubs who took the early lead but only to settle on a 4-4 draw. Cam Marshak led the way with a pair of RBIs, while Jarret Rude collected a pair of hits in the effort.

Saturdays big 11-3 win over the Saskatoon Giants put the Sox up in the standings. The Sox got to work early, taking a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the first, and they never looked back in a rock-solid performance.

Sunday saw an all-out battle with the Moose Jaw Canucks, where the Red Sox, down by seven, fought their way back in the seventh to draw up just short in an 8-6 loss.

Then on the holiday Monday, the Sox were back in the win column with a 5-2 victory over the South East Twins. Ryder Knittig earned the win as the team spread around the hits.

This Wednesday the East Central Squad is back on the road to face the Sask 5 Marlins.
