The annual spring concert for St. Peter’s Chorus is coming up this Sunday, April 30. An annual musical treat, this year’s concert will be a two part affair, says Director Maxine Moore.

“This first half is around sacred music,” explains Moore. “We’ve got a section devoted to an easter theme, and the second half, we’ll call it the Canadiana performance. The music is either arranged or composed by Canadian artists. Some of them are familiar, like Gordon Lightfoot or Ian Tyson.”

The Canadian focus is wide in scope, says Moore, with attention paid to artists and composers from the Maritimes right across the country to west coast arrangements.

The traditional Chorus House Band will be performing alongside the vocalists, including flute, clarinet, percussion, and of course piano.

The concert is 3:00 pm this Sunday, April 30 at St. Augustine Church. It’s a wonderful springtime rite of passage that offers a chance for both spiritual reflection and homegrown entertainment.
