A robust turnout of shoppers and vendors populated the parking lot at the Humboldt Legion Hall on Saturday for their first ever Tailgate Sale.

Dozens of truck beds and trunks displayed everything from quality clothing to jewelry, kids toys and classic games, housewares and homecrafts.

The Legion’s volunteers were on hand to sell smokies on a bun for a break from the bargains.

One enterprising club took the opportunity for a fundraiser. The Humboldt Stingrays Water Polo team had a tent of bargains set up with all the proceeds going to the club. It’s the first year for the club under coach Madison Mueller. The team has nine participants and is looking to grow in numbers. The team headed off to three competitions this past year including provincial in Saskatoon.

Juding by the turnout of happy shoppers, the event is likely to gain a regular spring slot on the Legion’s events calendar.
