The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation issued a statement of bereavement for Leslie Dubé, beloved philanthropist and community leader whose legacy of compassion and generosity will forever illuminate the path towards a brighter future for Saskatchewan's children and families.

Les and Irene Dubé have made a profound impact on the landscape of pediatric healthcare. Their unwavering commitment to the well-being of children was exemplified by their historic donation of $6.5 million to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, the largest individual gift made at that time to a pediatric hospital in Western Canada.

The statement went on to say Les and Irene's boundless generosity laid the foundation for the creation of the "Leslie and Irene Dubé Centre of Care for Children," a beacon of hope and healing within Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. Their visionary contribution ensures every child receives the best possible care, close to home.

“Les never wavered in his support of a dedicated children’s hospital. With Irene by his side, he opened his heart to helping Saskatchewan children and their families. Their devotion to creating the “Leslie & Irene Dubé Centre of Care for Children” was the first of its kind in Western Canada and we are proud that it bears his name. Les was a generous man with intentional purpose to make our provincial community a better, healthier place to live. Words cannot convey how much he will be missed,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation stated it is grateful for Les Dubé's profound contributions to pediatric healthcare. His memory will forever be cherished.
