The Marysburg Royals split their home field finale on Sunday.

The Royals opened with a 4-zip win over the Saskatoon Stallions. Thomas Lessmeister took firm command of the plate in the opener to stonewall the Stallions offense. Hits by Brett Suchan and Dakota Smith drove in Geoff Strueby to open the scoring in the second. Tom Hooker crossed the  plate on a Cole Bauml double in the 5th, while Hooker’s single in the 6th brought in two more to seal the deal.

In the second game, the Stallions rallied from a two run deficit in the 7th inning to bring in three runs and edge the Royals. Cole Bauml led the Royals at the plate with a pair of doubles and a homer. The Stallions were down 4-2 when the Stallions’ Adlai Muench knocked out a right field homer with two aboard to pick up the winning runs.

The Royals have one final away trip to Saskatoon on Tuesday to wrap up the season.
