Environment Canada has updated the tornado warning to include all of South Central and Southeastern Saskatchewan.

Extra caution should be taken in the Humboldt, Wynyard, Wadena, Lanigan, Foam Lake, Fort Qu'Appelle, Indian Head, Lumsden and Pilot Butte areas.

Environment Canada states it is tracking a severe thunderstorm, possibly producing a tornado. Residents should expect damaging winds, large hail and intense rainfall.

"Take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches," stated Environment Canada.

A tornado touched down west of Watrous and Manitou Beach around 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 29.

A funnel cloud began to form east of Young before touching down near Watrous and Manitou Beach, and a rotation could be seen from the ground.

Northeast of Little Manitou Lake and west of Drake, heavy rain and hail were reported at the same time.

If you encounter a tornado, go to the basement or take shelter in a small interior ground floor room such as a bathroom, closet, or hallway.

If you are in a vehicle, stay inside with the seat belt on. Put your head down below the windows; cover your head with your hands and a blanket, coat, or other cushions if possible. If you can safely get noticeably lower than the level of the roadway, leave your car and lie in that area, covering your head with your hands.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
