Two people are facing charges in Moose Jaw after a suspicious death early Wednesday morning was ruled a homicide.

The incident happened in a residence on Stadacona Street in Moose Jaw, and police and EMS responded to the scene.

The Moose Jaw Police Service determined the cause of death was a homicide. The deceased, a 25-year-old man, was said to have been found with a gunshot wound at the scene.

The two suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested, and are charged with manslaughter, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and the breach of one or more court orders. The investigation also led to the recovery of the firearm police say was used in the offence.

The man, 28-year-old Michael Anthony Tufano, appeared in court Friday morning. The woman, a 25-year-old who has not yet been named, was arrested Thursday, and will appear in court Monday.

Police say the victim and the suspects knew each other, and that the case is not gang-related.
