Update: The collision between a vehicle and a train at a level crossing just east of Elstow on Sunday has claimed one life. a 43-year old woman from Warman was declared deceased on the scene by EMS. Investigation determined the vehicle had been travelling east on Highway 16 at the time of the collision.

 No injuries were reported by CP rail crew members. An autopsy has been ordered on the deceased. Highway 16 was closed from approximately 7:45 on December 4th to 2:30 pm.

The investigation continues.

On Sunday morning, Saskatoon RCMP and Stars ambulance responded to a collision between a vehicle and a train approximately 1.6 km west of Elstow on Highway 16. 

Officers were called at about 8 am. Local fire responders set up detours for much of the day. Highway 16 has since reopened.
