It was a scary Monday morning at the Mac's AAA Midget Hockey Tournament in Calgary.

Early in the second period of the Tisdale Trojans game against the Calgary Buffaloes, Wadena's Carson Scheschuk was chasing the puck to the boards when he was cross-checked from behind.

Scheschuk's momentum carried him into the boards with his chin hitting the top of the dasher and the Buffaloes player falling on him.

Emergency crews were immediately called to ice level for the incident, with Scheschuk being taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Once at the hospital he was checked for a concussion and had x-rays done with all results being negative.

With only soreness in his neck and back, he has since been cleared by doctors to play. The Trojans confirmed that on their Twitter account, stating Scheschuk will be ready to play "in no time".

A five minute major and game misconduct for boarding was assessed on the play.

The game against Calgary was Tisdale's third of the tournament, which runs until New Year's Day on Friday.
