Saturday was National Vanilla Ice Cream Day, and to celebrate, Sabrina headed down to the Humboldt and District Museum to get some home made, hand turned, vanilla ice cream.

As the "Bolt Summer Cruiser", Sabrina hung out to find out how it all works and had a taste for just $1.

Everyone was welcome to give the ice cream a turn to see just how it's done!

The Musem's staff started making the ice cream that morning at 9am, for it to be ready to serve at 10am.

To make the ice cream they mix milk, whipping cream, vanilla, sugar, half and half cream, and a little salt.

To keep it cold there is ice and course salt (to slow the ice melting process) around the outside of the ice cream.
